saving for college funds

Hi from January i want to start saving my family allowance topped up to £200 each month for the next 10 years to go some way towards university fees for my 2 kids-who are now aged 6 and 8 (or a house deposit etc if they decide not to go). Where would be the best place to put the money-I want low risk and won't want to access the money before the time is up. Thanks.
