concreate water issue

hi all,
water stays on my driveway due to the way it has been concreted
I am thinking of drilling a hole in the middle which is around 200mm or 20cm and then put a drain cover on it .
is there a hole saw for concrete and what is the smallest size for drain hole?
many thanks

Yes, you can buy masonry hole saws. But I very much doubt this would solve your problem - the soil underneath the concrete is likely to be / should be very well compacted, so water will have a hard time draining away. Is the driveway perfectly level ? It shouldn't be. You need to install a channel at the bottom edge to allow the water to flow into a proper drain.0

sorry I should say it is not my driveway
it is my garden at the back which was concreated before I purchased the house and done poorly0 -

You've confused me!sorry I should say it is not my driveway
Seriously though, cutting holes and fashioning a drain won't work. As Ebe Scrooge says, you need to establish if there's a fall across the concrete, you will need a drain of some sort at the lower edge. If there isn't a fall (and your description suggests there isn't) then your only options would appear to be to get it resurfaced properly or live with it as it is.0 -
As above, I'm afraid.
You could hire a drilling rig and diamond core bit, drill a 200mm diameter hole but the water would just pool in there.
You "could" cut a channel from the lowest point where the water is pooling, essentially creating a run off. Can't see it being easy on the eye, but then again, is a slab of concrete?0 -
it is a big slope on existing concrete so only way i can see is creating a drain channel0

It gathers in one spot so i need to create a drain hole
Does that make sense?0 -
How many aliases do you have?!stranger12 wrote: »It gathers in one spot so i need to create a drain hole

So you have a sloped driveway but somewhere on that slope is a depression where water pools?0 -

So you've got a sloped area of concrete, with a depression in it where water collects ? Would it not be far simpler to just mix up a small amount of concrete and use that to fill the depression ? Then the water will just run off naturally.0
