PPI during Mortgage Application

Hi,

**Edit - technically we aren't during mortgage application- we have the mortgage offer, we just haven't exchanged yet, apologies for the miswording**

We had PPI on a loan we took out via DFS in 2008, I have found the paperwork but it isn't the simplest as it seems the loan was sold on. I am tempted to let a PPI claim company pick it up as whatever we get after their cut is still more than if I never actually get round to doing it!

However, we are currently in the process of buying a house and should be ready to exchange soon. Is there any risk that our mortgage offer will be withdrawn if we start this process? I wasn't sure if it would affect our credit score or anything and I have heard horror stories of mortgage offers being withdrawn for using car insurance comparison websites etc!

Apologies if this is a silly question but I just wasn't sure.

Thanks in advance.

If you don't have time to fill out a form, how will you find the time to tell the claims company what to write on the form?

Post #2 is useful and relevant advice.

Your mortgage application is irrelevant. A Claims Management Company is a waste of money and saves no time or effort.

No, it won't make a difference, but you might as well do it yourself, because claims companies have no special powers, they only fill in the same form you would and send it to the same address.

Go to the website of the company you're complaining about, contact them direct.
