Savings accounts can be annoying. If you've got say £80k in a cash ISA you can easily move the whole lot to a new provider just by filling out a form. If it's a savings account (non-ISA) you usually have to transfer the £80k to your (nominated) current account and then send £20k a day to the new provider. Needless to say this triggers all sorts of warnings at your bank usually ending with a visit to the branch with passport ID to cancel the block they have put on your internet banking after the first £20 was blocked.
