Car tax price increase for older cars

Hi all,
Just had my car tax reminder through the post. My car is a 2008 Fiesta emitting 139 G/KM, and the cost of tax was £130 but has now increased to £135. Looking at the new tax rules old pre-2017 cars were not affected, and my car tax was still £130.
Looks like DVLA updated their prices on their website on 26th April 2017.
Anyone else caught out by this?

It has been discussed before. Whilst everyone was looking the other way (i.e. under cover of the pretend attempt to increase National Insurance for their voters), the Chancellor bunged a raise onto pretty much everything you buy, including VED and insurance, in the budget.
Just blame it on Brexit, like the 20% price rise on everything in Tescos since OctoberI want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....

Ahh - that old chestnut of smoke and mirrors! I remember looking on DVLA's website a few days after the budget announcement and the prices under the older system hadn't changed.
Not the end of the world but confused me a bit!0 -

Yep, the usual annual increase announced in the budget.Looking at the new tax rules old pre-2017 cars were not affected, and my car tax was still £130.
The change to the tax rules (announced in the July 2015 post-election budget) only affected new cars first registered after the start of April, not ones first registered before that.
Nobody ever promised there would be no increase to VED rates for older stuff - quite the opposite, there's long been an annual increase broadly in line with inflation.Looks like DVLA updated their prices on their website on 26th April 2017.0 -

My old £30 is still £300

When I checked at the time, the prices for pre-2017 cars hadn't increased. I also checked other sources like Auto Express (even in April), and the prices remained the same as previous.
