An acquaintance from Canada is coming to Hertford for a conference.
She is flying into Heathrow, then staying in Weymouth for a few days. She would like to visit West Bay and Bridport ( Broadchurch fan). She will then travel to Hertford for the conference.
What is the best way for her to do this travelling by public transport? Is there a direct means to get from Heathrow to Weymouth, or is she better off going to Waterloo and train from there?
Are there buses from Weymouth to West Bay/ Dorchester/ Cern Abbas etc.?
I don't know if she drives, but if she does, would she be better off both time-wise and financially?

There is an air coach service from Heathrow to Woking and then direct trains to Weymouth. Certainly buses and train from Weymouth to both Dorchester and Cerne Abbas and Bus to all 3. Google will give detail.0

Weymouth to Hertford, assuming not Hereford means returning to London Waterloo, crossing to Liverpool Street and then the commuter line to Hertford East. The National Rail website will give her all the times, Weymouth to London trains are twice an hour for most of the day but advise her to book an advance ticket if she knows when she is travelling as a single to Hertford East from Weymouth is over £73!0

An easier way with SWT, depending what day they are arriving is booking £13 singles from SWT using the current promotion, then contactless card to Hertford East [NOT Hertford North]:

Although beware of the evening peak restrictions using these tickets0 -
Is she aware that much of the location filming for Broadchurch was not done in Dorset? Clevedon in Somerset was used a lot as well.No free lunch, and no free laptop0
