Hi
Can anyone recommend an 'online' conveyancing service? a few we have had quotes from get pretty bleak reviews with complaints of poor communication. Has anyone ever used a good online conveyance or would the recommendation always be to use a local one?
Thanks
Danny

General recommendation is use a local one - not a 'conveyancing farm' as some are. It's very rare to get an online recommendation on here.

Thanks, I presumed so. Will look at the local ones0

Avoid apparently cheap on-line conveyancers CONVEY LAW. I have just had a long and appalling experience. The initially advertised savings do not transpire, and the cost in grief and emotion is terrible. If you're interested in reading more, search "conveylaw" here on MSE forums or click the number under my name on the left here. Go to a good, local, recommended solicitor and pay a few pounds extra for peace of mind and personal service. Oh how I wish I had! Good luck....0

And no matter who you go with, be prepared for a "work at our own pace" experience as none of them seem to have any urgency about them.0

The main benefit I've found to using a local one is the ability to drop in to their office and have the receptionist copy and certify any documents - for remote ones, you'd need to get these done at a post office (meaning a trip into town anyway) or by a professional, or risk sending the originals. Ask friends/coworkers for recommendations and firms to avoid, get a few quotes, and if you get a high quote from a more recommended firm then see if you can negotiate them down a bit.0

I used RMNJ who are online and found them really good in what was a not so straight forward sale / purchase. Try a search for them in this forum and online. Like I say though my experience using them was very positive.0

Visit 3 local solicitors and ask to chat to a conveyancer. Get a quote. See how comfortable/confidant you feel with each.
Big advantages to being abe to drop in later either to deliver/collect documents fast, or to talk over issues face to face.0 -
If you're not planning to buy local to where you are now (say relocation 30-40 miles away), I'm assuming the local means local office to where you are now, rather than the property?
... or is it the other way round?
Thanks0 -

Usually advisable to use one near to where you currently live.2024 wins: *must start comping again!*0 -
Going through a remortgage with Enact at the moment on behalf of Barclays, dont use them. Absolutely hopeless, Im having to do the work myself now, its costing me an additional £100 a month in interest at the moment as theyre so slow0
