I have a Sony Video recorder and an RMT V406 remote control for it. The video is supposed to automatically remove the tracking but on the video that I am trying to watch at the moment it has not. Does anyone know how to manaully remove the tracking?
Thanks in advance.

Can you explain what you mean ? the tracking is the way the machine sync's the audio/video if you remove it you'll not see anything...
Do you mean it's ment to auto track and your getting a jumpy pic ? If that's it there might be a manual control somewhere, a small dial or wheel. Some newer machines don't have them as the auto is meant to be so good !!
If the tapes old or well used there may not be enough info left on the tape to get a track lock in which case there's not a lot you can do....0 -
The tracking is the line that appears along the bottom or top 1/8 of the screen it is like a white fuzzy line.
My video recorder is supposed to remove it automatically but in this case it didn't. I tried using the + and - change channel button on the remote but this did not work so I tried the same button on the recorder and this removed the line.
Thanks for your help.0 -
Auto tracking is one of those idea's thats sounds good, but can be a real pain.
