Mould resistant bathroom tile grout?

We had our bathroom walls re-tiled a year last March, and there is still not one speck of discolouration on the grout. However some small tiling jobs that OH has done himself over the years, with DIY chainstore grout, have only lasted a few months before they start to look dingy, with patches of black mould. We always religiously ventilate the room and wipe the tiles etc. down after use.
So, can anyone recommend a grout that the public can buy that would be of superior mould-resistant quality? We have another job pending and would like to get it right!

I have no idea if the mould resistance of different grouts varies, but you could try bleaching it white, and applying some grout sealant.
I've never used grout sealant, but you'd have to assume it would assist in reducing water absorption and therefore mould growth.0 -
Don't have a suggestion for supplies, but I've cleaned grout with a bicarb of soda and thick bleach paste as recommended on here. Mix them together and apply with a paintbrush. Leave overnight and rinse off. Some recommended scrubbing with a toothbrush, but we didn't find it needed it. Grout looked brand new afterwards.0

Based on my experience of shower curtains, I think bleach will have limited effect. Starting with blue curtains covered in black mould, after a week of soaking in a bucket of bleach I ended up with white curtains and pink mould.0

Shower curtains are a different thing altogether. They are cheap and can be replaced regularly. Re-tiling the bathroom is another matter!
Thanks everyone. I guess the type of wonderful grout that our professional tiler used is a trade secret then
.
I haven't bogged off yet, and I ain't no babe

We recently used an mould preventing additive for paint that can also be used in grout. That was 9 months ago and all is still well. Not particularly cheap if are painting/grouting a large area but better than having to re-do it.0

It's the same mould though.Bogof_Babe wrote: »Shower curtains are a different thing altogether.0 -

Yeah, I've heard that the mapei stuff is good. I'm planning on using that soon. Also, you can buy LTP grout seal stuff that I'm planning on doing too...0
