Is there a way of deleting a post? I asked this question but needed to act urgently and have already done so, which means now it is obsolete, but I can't delete it.

Yes you can take out a new policy from today, however bear in mind you'll be liable for a time on risk charge and a cancellation fee if you now cancel your renewed policy.
And yes, the insurer can charge a cancellation fee in the cooling off period.

We did not research for a new home insurance on time and ours renewed automatically today, the first day of the new period --at twice the price. I know there is a cooling period and we can claim that money back, but are we on time to contract another insurance today? Yesterday was the last day of our contract. Thanks for any advice!
