Try Comet auctions. You can often get white goods very cheaply and they have unnoticeable, cosmetic faults:

We've had a Bosch for many years, bought from John Lewis. It's 1.75 metres high, but they do a taller one as well. We've been very pleased with it.

I got a hotpoint larder fridge and a hotpoint larder freezer in May, been happy with both of them, but not been long enough for a really good test. I shopped around and Curries had a special offer on at the time so worth checking out if they have any offers on now.

I found the curries and comet website quite helpfull as it listed all the features of the various fridges, it ended up for colour, size, perfomance etc it had to be the hotpoint ones for me.

I since found out that hotpoint have an online outlet store http://www.hotpoint.co.uk/macro/outlet.d2w/report it doens't have any fridges at the moment but it may be worth keeping an eye on, in case any come into stock, I don't know how often the items change nor have I compared prices

My mother has a bosch fridge freezer that she's very happy with, had it for a couple of years and no problems so far.

I had a really tall larder fridge until a few weeks ago.

The only problem I found is......it looks fantastic when you open the door just after you've done a big shop as you can get almost everything in.Including big bottles of fizzy drinks. But 2 days later it starts to look really empty.

I know it just LOOKS emptier because the fridge is bigger but I hated it.

  • I've recently got a Beko freezer and its very good. They are made in Turkey.
