Can someone else send payment directly to my Amex card from their bank?

I've paid for something for a friend on my Amex card so I was going to ask them to make payment directly to Amex instead of making a transfer to me to send on.
I just wanted to check if this would cause any problems with Amex if a payment came in from a third-party account with my card number details. I've done this in the past, paying off my share of a holiday to a friend's card but I don't know if things have changed over the past few years.

No issues. I often pay my wife credit cards, including her Amex0
