It appears the Ring supplies 16-24 volts and most British bells run on 8 volts, so they may ding a little harshly on a Ring power supply.
Any of these should work as should 182 and 792 here
Yup, that's the list.
I was looking for the above under the Bryan brand name, as this is what was on the list. Confusing they're the same chimes under a different name.
Thanks for the info.0 -
Just to mention when buying the Ring doorbell kit, you will need the one that includes the 24 volt transformer.0

Having looked into this a bit more, i think I may also need a 24v transformer for the chime. Is this correct?
From my research, if I have understood, it seems that this is the difference between the USA and UK chimes.
It is proving difficult to find a chime with a 24 v transformer.0 -

Annie, just the one 24V transformer will power both the chime and the video doorbell system.
Ring are saying that the chimes on their list discussed earlier in the thread will work okay on the 24V supply and Owain M. was optimistic that they would be okay on 24V, too.0 -

OK, I thought i needed separate transformers.
Now I just need to work through the list to find out which chimes can be attached to both the front and the back doorbell.
I'm having the Ring Pro on the front door, and a normal door bell on the side door. Will this work?0 -

Yes any hardwired chime can be wired to work from two bell-pushes so that would work fine. Did the sparky lay the wires to both doors already?0 -
Yes, if it's wired up right.
And do note the Ring transformer shown in the pictures (for DIN rail mounting) must be fitted inside a consumer unit or another suitable enclosure, not just left exposed.A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.0 -

Yes, first fix is done. I need to buy the stuff for second fix.0 -

Electrician will hopefully know what to do. I just need to choose the stuff and buy it, but want to make sure it's suitable.0 -
The electrician has now fitted the Ring. He says it can't connect to the chime I bought because the instructions are for bypassing the chime. The only thin I can make ring is the wif-fi plug in chime, which is not what I wanted.
Is the electrician correct, that the list of compatible chimes mean they are used to join the wires only, and the wired-in chime cannot be made to work?0
