Hi, my sons (5, 7 and 11) all have bank accounts with Nationwide which seems to work well. Eldest has a debit card and online access which is teaching him about monitoring and budgeting. Highly recommend0

The Santander mini 123 is available for you to open for the nine year old.

My 8 yo has an account with RBS since he turned 7. It is a saving account with direct access and we go to the branch together to both deposit his Piggy bank saving/weekly allowance from time to time as well as withdraw when he want to purchase something which he has budgeted for. It comes with an app which help introduce kids to the concept of having to earn money, saving it, before spending it and has helped him a great deal so far as it does not ask for things to be bought by first try to work out how to buy it and how long it will take.0

Isn't it fortunate that MSE have written a series of articles on the subject, which can be accessed from links in this article?
