DVLA and Advantis Debt Collectors

Hello there,
Well it me again... Trouble after trouble...

I have just received a letter from Advantis acting on behalf of the DVLA regarding a late payment for my road tax (from April 2016). I realise it is my responsibility to keep my road tax up to date, but as soon as I realised that my tax was due I got it sorted. Again, all correspondence sent to the incorrect address (as I was not aware that I had to update my V5). I am aware now and everything is up to date.
I can't seem to find any information here. If anyone could help me with drafting an appeal to the DVLA, it would be much appreciated.

I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.
