Home swap/ exchange - can't get insurance

We have been members of HomeExchange.com for about 5 years. It's a great way to get a cheaper holiday by swapping your home with another family. I have never had problems with getting home insurance before and have always checked that the company are happy for us to do a home swap. After all these are non-paying guests, and you would have thought it was better to have your home occupied while you're away. However something seems to have changed. I have tried Hastings, Hiscox, Sainsbury, Direct Line, Swinton and they say the underwriters won't do it. The only luck I've had today is via a broker but the quote is 4 times the price of what we paid last year.
Has anybody else had similar problems or can anybody suggest a solution? Thanks.
