I've got an adult's trike that I use for almost all my local errands and visits during the day. It's extremely stable if you corner properly and avoid adverse cambers. I bring all my shopping home on the luggage rack.
The exercise is marvellous and trikes genuinely are a great alternative to two wheelers for anyone with issues riding a bike.
I do have to chain it up, and I have had kids mess with it a few times over the 15 years I've owned it, but generally all is well with it. It's a marvellous alternative to a mobility scooter for me. I have bad arthritis in my hip and don't walk well. Cycling is a non weight bearing exercise.

Why do some people still not cycle? Do they want medical problems? Cancer heart attacks? Depression? We all know that not cycling is dangerous but so many people still do it. People realised that smoking was dangerous so most people stopped. Not cycling is dangerous too.

My best friend was killed cycling.

My heart is in my mouth when hubby goes cycling.

I swimming. At least there's a life guard (or two)on duty

Your post is based on a false premise.

Not cycling is not bad for you and even if it were people are not aware of it.

Cycling is a good way to get out and about but personally speaking I keep off the roads. So do a lot of cyclists in my town. We have good cycle paths on most roads and very wide grass verges on many others.

Swimming pools are hard for me to access now, a real shame as I love swimming.
I use my trike for errands and no journey is ever more than a 6 mile round trip. I never have to worry about parking and maintenance costs are low.
Cycling is a good alternative to walking for short local journeys and certainly a far better alternative than driving for many, but not all.

The same happened to my cousin and to my mother-in-law's 96 year-old neighbour; both killed by lorries. The old man was very fit, until the lorry got him.

After having a bike nicked I would only now ever consider a folder which removes that problem.

It wouldn't have solved my son's problem. A lout snatched his, just as he was putting on the lock.

It was an unusual bike and was spotted in a back garden, by a friend. The police were informed and two weeks later, reported that they had just paid the person a visit and there was no sign of the bike. What a surprise.

Too many hills in Wales and I never learned to ride a bike. Should I learn now at the age of 70?

Why have I not died before?

I don't think most louts/chavs would have any interest in a brompton folder - they mainly like mountain bikes

To be fair not cycling probably only knocks a couple of years off your life whereas smoking probably knocks about 10 years off.
