Hi All,
I just want anyones opnion on this and what you would do.
I have had a insurance claim and it was to replace my Laminate flooring in the front room.
When they had done it i noticed a chip in one of the boards the chip was probably about 1cm ish. I mentioned this to the company and they came out and filled it with some sort of filler, believe it or not it was only 3 rows in from the start and could of got to it easy, but to be honest looks ok now.
Ok heres my Issue.
In about 4 of the boards there is a slight gap to the next board and it is a tiny gap its visable to the eye is this normal for wood flooring or not, when i mentioned it to the bloke he said thats normal but im not so sure ( these guys are cowboys) Also in one part ive noticed a lil bit raised but again this is tiny and if i complain i really think they will think im being picky.
I just want a good job, Honestly my dad fitted my old laminate he had never done it before yet he did a better job.
I just feel that maybe they have used cheap tatty stuff that will be no good in a year. The lamintate i had down before this was 5 years old and still in pretty good condition till it got wet. (Hence the Claim)
Sorry ive ranted a bit but please can have your opnions on what to do or am i just making a fuss out of nothing.
I just want it to be right thats all.

Call your insurance company. Not the contractors or the sub-contractors!Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

When you claim on insurance, they should make good any damage to the quality it was before. i.e. don't expect it to be worse than it was before but at least as good.
Get on to the insurance co and tell them you are not satisfied with the work completed.Hoping this year is better than the last.0 -
I agree - get in touch with your insurance company and explain the situation.
