Amazon Flex - Insurance

Hi Everyone,
Apologies if this is posted in the wrong section. I've recently applied for a part time job with Amazon Flex. This is delivering packages for amazon using my own vehicle in my spare time.
I currently hold my own fully comp car insurance which includes social, domestic and pleasure + commuting to a single place of work. Amazon are offering their own commercial insurance free of charge up until 30th June 2017 however have not asked for my vehicle details or a copy of my insurance.
My question is do I need to make any changes to my original policy such as adding business use or commercial use even though I will be covered by Amazon?
I have spoken to my current insurer and they have told me that they are not able to add business use or commercial use to my policy however Amazon's insurance should override my personal policy when I am making deliveries. I have emailed Amazon for clarification on how to be eligible on their policy and this is their reply.
"To be covered by this temporary commercial policy, you will need to maintain a social, domestic and pleasure policy. To deliver with Amazon Flex, you as a Delivery Partner must maintain commercial insurance coverage. Commercial insurance, commonly referred to as "Hire and reward", covers activities that may be excluded from your personal policy while delivering with Amazon Flex"
To me this email tells me two completely different things. At the beginning they say all I need is social domestic and pleasure policy to be insured by Amazon but if I wish to make deliveries then I must need commercial insurance?
If anyone has any personal experience with either Amazon Flex insurance or anything similar that will be much appreciated

You do need to inform your insurance because they maybe unwilling to cover a vehicle that is partially insured elsewhere.
They wont know where the other cover cuts in and ends.
Amazons cover may start whan your booked for a delivery and end when you return home, or it may only cover you whilst the package is in the vehicle. So whilst your knocking on the door an incident occurs Amazon may say your not covered you and the package were not in the vehicle.
The excess is also something that needs checking. Their excess maybe quite high.
I doublt hire and reward is enough either. Your essentially a courier.
If your thinking its a full time pay all your bills and pocket some nice savings each week then look into it again. Its far too early for it to be a full time earner for most. If your a taxi driver or have other delivert type jobs then it may fit in.
But its another your self employed but you work solely for Amazon.. Another cop out..
I have used the PrimeNow and they are super fast. Within an hour of me ordering it was on the doorstep.
Is your car suitable also? Large vehicle to take a reasonable number of packages and do you know your vehicles max carrying weight?
Whats the fuel consumption like on local journeys?
£15 per hour? Even with the Amazon £2 tip which you can remove when ordering your going to be rushing here and there to get them all done in time. Or your going to be rushing further than you expected for a one off delivery. How much per delivery? Im going to guess its going to be less than £1.
If your in an area where buyers leave the £2 tip or even increase it you maybe better off. but how many will remove it?
And it wont be just shopping, i ordered a machine tool from Prime now because it was a novelty to see if they really could get it to me the same day. And yes they did. Luckily the driver was fairly young and fit. The item was over 18kg.
You will need a 2nd phone unless you wont mind customers getting your number. Pretty sure they supply a number for the driver?
