Deposit return after ending tenancy

So I'm just wanting some advice regarding getting your deposit back after a tenancy ending. We're in Scotland.
We ended our tenancy on a property on 15th April. We left the house pretty much spotless, everything as it was when we moved in. We left the keys with the agent, and it was the first property that we didn't have a check out inspection on the same day as ending the tenancy as the agents didn't open that day. They confirmed they received the keys and that the inspection would be carried out 3 days later.
Our deposit is in a protection scheme and so on the 15th we requested that our deposit be returned.
Since then we have had no contact with the agents. I have emailed them multiple times asking for the check out inspection and that they return our deposit. We can't phone during working hours hence the emails. But still no word at all. My husband just wants to leave it as the deposit will be returned after 30 working days from when we requested it if the agent/LL doesn't dispute it. However I'm worried that if we don't chase them now and find out why they're ignoring us, they could put in a dispute on the last day and then that'll delay us getting our money back for longer...
Anyone agree with my husband? Lol We've rented plenty of times before and we've never had an issue getting the deposit back after.

IIRC you are in Scotland. It does help to state that in your OPs since housing law is different from that in England & Wales.
If it were me I wouldn't hang around waiting for the letting agent or landlord to act. After 3 weeks and some chasing I would be making my own application to the scheme to have my deposit returned.0 -

I did state in my first few sentences i was in Scotland?
We have already asked the scheme to return the deposit. It said that it waits 30 working days for the LL/agent to agree and then it returns it. If there's no action from their side it gets returns automatically, but we've still to wait until end of may really..0 -
Sorry, I've not had my first cup of tea yet this morning. If you've requested the deposit back from the scheme then there's nothing else you can do just now except for wait. You've already emailed the letting agent and you've heard nothing back. Emails are easy to ignore, someone on the end of the phone less so. If you're worried about deductions phone them, if not just wait it out.0
