Capital One

Looking for some advice on my PPI claim with Capital One credit card. Only submitted my claim on 24th April and received a letter today stating that they stopped selling PPI in 2012 and my as my account was opened after this date there is nothing to claim. My claim to them submitted using the resolver with Money Saving Expert, clearly states my account was active in 2008!

So is this a standard tactic by Capitla one to try and avoid investigating my claim?

My question is do I respond telling them they are incorrect and that they need to continue to investigate my claim. Or do I go straight to the Ombudsman?

Any advice would be appreciated, thanks in advance :)

Do you have statements that show you paid PPI? seeing an account that was open in 2008 does not mean that you paid PPI.

No. There is no evidence to support that allegation.

    Go back to them.

Sounds to me like you didn't have PPI (or they can't find any) and they've got their wires crossed over the dates. Contact them to clarify, but there really is no need to be suspicious of an ulterior motive.

Did you "claim" without investigating whether you actually had PPI?
