Had two business lines, one had not worked for ages and they could not fix it. Got cancer, surgery, Chemo, Radiotherapy - so ill sold said business on Sept 30th - rang talktalk and said please cancel lines on Oct 1st. Just got solicitors letter saying I owe £194 and pay within 7 days or court. Did an online chat saying the lines were cancelled - only one was they said so pay for the other or give us the time and date of call in September when you cancelled the other one - um - I have no idea - was so ill - tough luck. Why would I keep one phone line in a shop I know longer had - give us the time and date - I can't - pay up then. The transcript of my call is staggering. Hope no-one else goes through this - they do not care.

On the face of it, I'd suggest trying to make contact at the earliest opportunity with their Chairman's office - I would hope you should get a more sympathetic ear.0

Sorry to hear of your illness. However if you gave notice on 30/9 then you would be charged until 31/10, as a month's notice is normally required. If you were still in minimum term then further charges would apply for early cancellation.
I suggest you check your bills and see exactly what it is that you are being charged for.
If a line was not working then you should have received a credit for the downtime, as long as you reported it, and the fault was external. No free lunch, and no free laptop0
