Mortgage Approval

(Sorry for a silly question. total newbie here)

Once my mortgage has been approved. How long is it valid for ? (I have before making a new application) (we applied with nationwide)

Also can the mortgage be used for any property or are we tied to the property which we applied for ? or the mortgage if approved we can find any property within that range and go for it ?

No, it's a new app with Nationwide for a change of property.
