Damp and timber report-Leeds

So after getting a full survey done on the house we're buying it's been recommended a full damp and timber report is carried out. Survey reads like a house of horrors-lots of damp/woodworm/timber rot in loft conversion! No one we know has bought a property this old before so have no experince of damp and timber surveys-can anyone recommend one in Leeds? Thanks!

Cant recommend anyone but make sure you go with an independent surveyor i.e. not linked to or recommending company providing any damp proofing service.

I got mine from PCA site although I read quite few not so good feedbacks about PCA itself.

This is the only place I know to look for independents who don't actually do the remedial work, they just report on problems;-

No, never dealt with them but they are listed on the PCA
  • I used J H Rees & Sons for a damp & timber survey of my house before I bought it. They are independent & PCA registered & were excellent. It does say on their website they are South Yorkshire based but you could give them a call & see if they'll make the trip to Leeds.
  • Actually, their website says they cover the country!
