Either DH or I have got a place in the GNR:eek: There is a pending transaction on the CA for 1 entry fee but neither of us have had an email yet to say we are in. We should find out by the end of the week but I am still checking my email account every 2 minutes..

DH is definitely changing his mindset around spending. He wants a new running watch with HR monitor built in so has saved his personal spends, his birthday money, sold his old watch and some bits and has enough to buy one and for his night out with his friend on Saturday. Previously he would have bought one and expected the 'account' to cover it or said he would 'borrow' next months personal spends but then would spend it on something else.

We are going out for tea tonight for DH birthday at a local pizzeria for happy hour. 3 courses for £6 each.:D Still money in the family fun budget to cover it, just, as DH has opted for 2 cheap meals for his birthday rather than 1 much more expensive one involving 3 courses and wine.

Great news all round - the mystery GNR entry for one of you...; dh 'saving up' for his new piece of kit; being able to afford dh's birthday within budget. Go team XSpender!

I ran it a couple of years ago and didn't train enough. Struggled for the first couple of miles, got in to a good rhythm for the next 8 and then my dicky hip went so had to walk the rest. Training proper starts June but I want to be able to run a strong 10k by then at least and keep running with the club I joined last month. I will keep a track of my training on here so you can all give me a kick up the bum when needed. which will probably be often :o

The roof repayment pot is almost at £900. I 'sold' DH £20 of survey vouchers as he bought his new running watch through Amazonian and have put the cash to the loan.

We didn't end up going out for tea for DH birthday. DS had another incident at school and was very upset and DH was in a bad mood/feeling low and still is :(

The Frugal February Food budget is not where I would have liked it to be at £111.73 1 week in. This includes 1 lunch bought by DH and £10 on something to eat and some beers on Tuesday when we didn't go out. If we had gone out it would have come out of the family fun budget. I moved £10 from the fun budget but put it on the loan instead of the food budget.

DH is away 1, possibly 2, nights next week and I am away 1 so that will save some dinners but DH will need to buy 2 lunches. My lunches and dinner are paid for by work. I am going to review my shopping list on mysupermarket and see if I can get enough food for the £70 (£52.50 in real money) to last us for the next 2 weeks apart from milk, fruit and DH beer. I would like to be under £200 by the 21st.

Not much else to report. Entered a competition to win some cash and checked works bonus calculation. I think they owe me one months worth so will email them today and ask them to check.

Euuughhhhh! I've been struck down by the lurgy :( Still at work but doing a good impression of a sloth. I have a massive drive to do today, and the same again tomorrow, so will be dosing myself up before I set off.

We had the cheapest weekend ever! DH spent £13 on a haircut (budgeted for) and that was it! Weekends are our danger zone and when we usually spend the most. It also helped that we didn't need to go to a supermarket for beer and end up spending £25 on nowt as DH was out on Saturday.

I only got 1 frog done this weekend and requested a form to open an ISA for DS. The downstairs got vacuumed and the kitchen cleaned but I didn't have the energy for much else. Sunday's dinner ended up being a Rugby Buffet using up all the leftover and unopened buffet bits from Christmas. There are enough leftovers for DH and my lunches for a couple of days.

We are off the week before Easter and I have to confess to booking a caravan for a week instead of staying at home and having days out and doing the garden :o DH had mentioned it a couple of days before and then the email offer dropped through on Friday evening. I must be a marketing departments dream customer, less than 70 minutes between email and booking! We are more excited about this than our 2 week holiday abroad which is in a caravan too but with lots of hot sun. It will be our 4th visit to this UK site (3rd at Easter) so we know the area well and there are lots of opportunities to use our NT membership, do a cheap Easter egg trail, make use of the pool with slides and we have booklets of walks to do. DH would have found a lot of things we 'needed' to buy for the garden during that week so it isn't going to cost us much more!

DS and I tried to join the local volunteer ran library at the weekend but their systems were down so we will need to go back at the weekend. Luckily the 2 next books in a new series I have discovered were 99p each on kindle so I snapped them up. DS has Charlie and the Chocolate Factory to finish. He loves Tom Gates but inhales them.

Its a busy week this week; DH and I are both away with work (although DH says he is going to drive home and not stay away now), DS has 2 school events, DH and DS are at an evening event on Saturday that I bought them for Christmas, DH marathon training starts this week, I would like to get a run or 2 in and would like to start 30 days of yoga practice. I am hoping it will help my dicky hip when I start running more. On top of that I need to give the house a good clean before we descend into squalor!
