I hope everyone had a lovely Christmas.

DH and I both said that this is one of the nicest Christmases we can remember. We were feeling very grateful for everything we had on Christmas Eve we made a donation to a local charity to buy several Christmas lunches for the vulnerable and homeless.

No money has been spent since Christmas Eve and we have not thrown any food out. I managed to prep the right amount for once so there have been just enough leftovers to keep us going until this evening. Although I do have a lot of cake stuff left and the best part of a Christmas pud!

I'm planning a sausage casserole to use up the veg and the mash potato I left in the microwave on Christmas Day :o

DH and is back to work and I have come down with a stinking head cold:( DS has been at DMIL today and overnight to allow me some rest.

Tomorrow I have to post the wallpaper back to get my refund, drop some dry cleaning off and help DS build his lego and write thank you cards.

Feeling a little better this morning.

The decorator has been to touch up a couple of places. DS and I have played board games and he is now building his Lego.

DMIL has taken the dry cleaning for me as the shop near her does 5 items for £20 and we have 10 items that need cleaning

The thank you cards and wallpaper can wait until tomorrow.

DS and will pop to the local co-op later for some tissues, paras, bin bags, glass cleaner, dog food, beer and fruit. That is probably all I need until next weekend :)

    END OF DEC BALANCES

The first target debt has been cleared :j

I checked my LTSB CC statement today and they have allocated my repayment wrong, sending half to the interest free and half to the interest bearing. I have called and queried this today but the relevant department is not open until Tuesday so will chase at the end of the week.

    Happy New Year HHoD!

I have been reading but not posting as we have had a busy first week back at work.

My CC on line accounts showed that I would not be required to make a January payment by DD after making overpayments late December. However they have all taken the monthly payment as well as the OP so things are a bit tight but the new balances look great :) I have had to not pay the budgeted amounts to the savings pots this month to cover it and not add to the EF. I am still a bit short but will manage somehow.

In total we have made payments of £1157.61 with another £84 to be paid later in the month.

I have £136 of expenses due at the end of Jan to come directly off the Lloyds CC and £80 for the wallpaper refund to come off this card too.

My new target debt is Virgin (Me) Part 1 which has a balance of £689.81 left after a big OP from December's bonus. I am hoping to have this cleared by the end of March. I have a small TCB pay out and some account interest to OP..

We have had to buy a new router for our broadband as it was so poor we couldn't run 2 devices at once. DH phone also broke and he has got a new one for £30 and an extra £5 on his contract. My phone is due for renewal in September and I can go SIM only saving £10/month as I don't need another phone :)

I have also found out you can pay for NT membership monthly now and ours is due for renewal in May so that will save us having to save up for it first.

We both were paid on the 22nd and have not used the CCs at all. Now everything is on 0% it puts me off using them even more.

Just Water challenge is on day 4 and I am missing tea but nothing else. DH is finding it a bit more of a challenge.
