Shutl via Ebay

Same here! I'm afraid to drop my parcel off at parcelshop in case its wrong. The only email I've received about this promotion was to my Business account and it just says less than 2kg and doesn't mention size at all. Can't find anything on Ebay, and haven't received the email to my Private account. My parcel this morning was booked via my Private account so guessing promotion is across all of Ebay.0

Ok, had a brain wave and went direct to Shutl website. Full details of promotion can be found there under Ebay link. And it is £2 for a medium parcel! All other prices much cheaper too as long as they are dropped off.0

It depends on the weight but I still saved £1 on a 2-5kg signed.Warning: any unnecessary disclaimers appearing under my posts do not bear any connection with reality, either intended, accidental or otherwise. Your statutory rights are not affected.0 -
The £2 small parcel is a temporary promotional rate only.
There has been a glitch since yesterday, as when I click on "print postage label" it doesn't send me to the usual page and I get this warning instead:
An issue occurred and we were unable to create your shipping label. If ebay charged your account, we will automatically issue a refund.
I reported it to ebay this morning. They already knew about the technical glitch and are working to resolve it.0 -
I see the wording has changed on Shutl Royal Mail Second Class no longer says "confirmation on delivery" and this now only appears on the Signed for items.
There was some talk on this forum at the time that the then new barcoding of small parcels was the delivery confirmation on the standard (£2.82) service.
Does anyone know if this is still the case?Warning: any unnecessary disclaimers appearing under my posts do not bear any connection with reality, either intended, accidental or otherwise. Your statutory rights are not affected.0 -

I'm still getting delivery confirmation on my business standard parcels which I get at a discounted rate.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Just a word of warning when using the new Ebay Shutl service , make 100% sure that your item is covered for insurance .
If you checkout their vast exclusion list you will see that it covers just about every base.
When booking Ebay will offer extra insurance but in an event of a claim they will not pay out even if it is lost / stolen .
I sent an very expensive item and was charged an additional £15 to fully insure , only to find out it was not insured for damage or loss.0 -

That warning goes for any and every courier.
It is up to you to check you are covered.
I'm taking it you didn't?0 -
Just decided to check out Shutl. Their insurance policy is a joke, as was said, pretty much everything is excluded, even their own chat advised me to book direct with the couriers and not them because of it.
Oh, and they offer enhanced insurance now, but they won't tell you what it costs. Their advice 'when you sell an Ebay item, you can then choose optional insurance and see the cost' - right, so how does a seller price up the postage beforehand? 'We don't have that information here'. Can you email it to me? 'No'. So you don't have a table showing the extra insurance costs? This should be on your rates page. 'No'.
I won't be using them ...0 -
Their list of no-compensation items is not easy to find when you are actually purchasing postage, and they do not advertise the fact that things aren't covered and will allow you to buy additional compensation without warning you that them item you are sending was listed in an ebay category that would potentially not be covered at all. Furthermore, the couriers they use do compensate for most of these items, which means that Shutl will be claiming the compensation for them and pocketing it. If they weren't able to claim it back from the courier I could understand it, but this is just dishonest.
Never use Shutl.0
