Parking charge notice parking permit was not displayed

Hi Guys,

I recently moved to a new house and we have residential parking area. There is small notice in the premise which says the parking permit should be displayed.

I somehow managed to forget displaying the permit  and landed up with a parking charge notice from PCN Parking Solutions. As a new user I am not allowed to post the url for the picture here. So I will add as much detail as possible here.

They are not registered with BPA. On the notice I can see
PCN Parking Solutions, PO Box 465, Surrey, KT149BS
Tel: 03450737209
www paymypcn.net
appeals@paymypcn.net
enquiry@paymypcn.net

The website don't have any FAQs OR help. Only option on the website is to pay the ticket. Same with the telephone number. No option to talk to anyone. Only option to pay the ticket.

After doing some reading online I understand that they can't get vehicle details from DVLA as they are not registered with BPA. Also, I have valid parking permit, so can I ignore this notice?

Does anyone have any experience with them? What should I do? Should I pay it up? Ignore? Appeal?

Please suggest what should be done. Let me know if you need any further information.

Why do you need a permit? What does your lease/AST say about displaying a permit?

If the AST does not mention the need for a permit to park, the PPC and the MA may well be trying to restrict your leasehold rights to quiet enjoyment of your property, possibly a criminal offence, and the PPC may have breached your DPA rights.

there are lots more such cases, and you could be on to a nice little earner if you are up for a fight.
You never know how far you can go until you go too far.

Thanks for reply The Deep. I am renting a flat here and my AST does not mention anything regarding parking. But there is notice in the parking area which says the permit should be displayed. I had the permit but it was not displayed at that time.

I want to know if I can just email them that I have the permit. If I ignore to pay would there be any consequences. Would they be able to get my details from DVLA and send court notice or something like that.

Not recommended, presumably by now you've read 'NEWBIES PLEASE READ THESE FAQS FIRST' and know how to appeal properly.

Yes, they could, anyone could. No big deal - and the NEWBIES thread covers all of those issues. No 'consequences' as long as you do not ignore any court claim.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
