Claim cost

Made a claim on AA house contents AD for mac laptop, it cost £999. Apple repair cost as much so had insurance look at it. They came back and said they could repair it so just £200 excess. This was fine by me. But i don't know what to put down on my renewal as claim for other insurance firms ask for date and cost.
So do i put down £999 or £200 excess or ask insurance for the repair cost, as i did dummy run before with £1000 claim and they came back cheaper than my quote from AA after repair. I was surprised at the increase of £100 as i was thinking it would not be that much. This is my first claim in 10 yrs. Any advice, thank's.

You put down the value of the claim, not the excess paid.
If you don't know this, it's probably on the statement of fact on the renewal letter?0
