UPVC door- lock stiff

Originally i thought the issue was with the eurocylinder so i replaced that and discovered this was not the case. In fact, the door just doesn't quite "line up" with the lock, as the lock works fine when the doors open.

There is adjustment on the door frame side, but not enough. The hole for the bolt thing needs to come towards the house more than its capable of. All i can think is to grind away some of the metal the create a bigger hole.

Anyone think of anything i haven't?

Will moving the door on the hinges sort it? There are plenty of videos on YouTube on how to adjust UPVC doors. Worked for me.

Hmm possibly, when i looked i didn't think adjustment at the hinges was possible. I'll look.

I dont think its going to help unfortunately. All the 5 point lock bits work fine, its just the actual eurocylinder lock.

Is it a wood effect foil door, rosewood or similar

One thing I found out was the mounting screw of the eurolock itself can cause the lock to twist, if overtightened. When I eased one of ours off a little, the lock turned easily. This is the screw on the edge face of the door itself.

    Good luck

I had a similar problem, with a new back door, very difficult to both lock and unlock - very stiff. Called the Double-glazing company that fitted it, customer service came shortly afterwards and fixed it.

If its an older installation, there may be a D/glzing company in your area that do 'repairs.
