AA motorcycle insurance cancelling my scooter policy

Hello everyone,
Last year I had AA scooter policy. This year did not receive renewal letter and auto renewal was cancelled. So this year searched their website and took a policy on 11th of April starting from 30th of April. Premium £203 fully comp with 5 years NCD.
Today received an email asking for proof of NCD. I called them and requested them to check their system as I was their customer last year. NCD checking done but they found the year of scooter purchased wrong. It was 2004 instead of 2008. I mistakenly put my car's years of purchase. Now they are asking extra £82 to change the year. When I requested an email for details of extra fee, I received emails twice with no meaning at all.
Now they sent me an email telling the Insurance will be cancell in 7 days. What shall I do? £82 extra is too much. Last year with AA same policy I paid £147. I don't want to pay £82 but willing to pay £20 to £30 for my mistake. But request declined.
Can anyone knowledgable/experienced please help me.
Thank you.

What are you basing the "£20 or £30" on? Is it just what you want to pay?
If they aren't competitive anymore with the additional charge, see if it's cheaper to cancel in the cooling off period and move elsewhere.
Ultimately you made the error, albeit unintentionally, why shouldn't they correct the rate to what they otherwise would have offered to begin with?0 -
It is perfectly reasonable for them to charge more for a newer vehicle plus an amendment fee. If you are not happy, you can cancel and go elsewhere.
It is better if you cancel. Many insurers will ask if you have ever had insurance declined or cancelled and this could affect the premium."A nation's greatness is measured by how it treats its weakest members." ~ Mahatma Gandhi

Thanks a lot paddyands & missile. I will cancel and go somewhere cheaper.
To paddyands, £20 to £30 extra is based on new quotes I searched on AA's website putting scooter purchase year 2004 & 2008. It comes around £25 more. But sadly they won't match it. Also I requested AA if I cancel current policy and buy a new one on their website, not to charge any cancellation fee as I was their previous customer for 3/4 years. Again the request refused. Looks like because of my mistake, I have to pay extra £82 or run with some loss and experience.
Lesson learned. Thanks everyone.0
