MS Office Ultimate 2007

Options
Don't know if anyone has already posted this, but if you're a student you can get MS Office Ultimate 2007 for around £40 from this site: http://www.theultimatesteal.co.uk/

The promo runs until April-ish I think and it appears to be a saving of about £460. You need to use your university email address, so an account ending in .ac.uk. I'm just downloading it now....

  • This is just MS sinking to the same level as your average drug dealer
give you your 1st hit for free/cheap, but when you want the next hit ....
or you'll be in so deep you'll badger your (future) employer to get you your next fix

    Other cheaper options are

    Open Office

    http://www.openoffice.org/
You can download for free regardless of your status

    Or

    Google Docs

(As I said in another thread)
This way no data is stored on your laptop which might crash / get stolen etc
Don't need to worry about Back up
Plus you can access the data from any internet connected PC on campus or elsewhere
Plus you can go back to an earlier version of a document
Maybe some downsides, I'm not aware of yet, but seems a ideal way for a student to manage their info

    http://www.google.co.uk/intl/en/options/
and then click on Docs under communicate and share

I have a copy of Office, but I didn't pay for it.

I must say it is good once you get used to it. Document sizes are halved with the new file type.

However, I do use Google Docs and keep some files uploaded on their side so that I can access them from any PC. Its like your own storage space :)

Yeah, but my problem isn't backing up data, it's access to the web. And as a distance learner, I'm not on a campus with multiple internet access points.

I found what I wanted a lot cheaper than expected. Thought I'd share it, that's all.
