UK Parking Control Ltd - Made an error!

Hi

Just wondered if there is any I can still do, read the sticky, but still unsure.

Got a windscreen ticket on 11/03/17 whilst collecting my takeaway from a retail car park, was parked on double yellow lines with a blue badge on display. Reason 'Not parked correctly within the markings of the bay or space'. I did check this forum, but for some reason I thought I needed to wait until I received a letter. My error as I now know I should of sent the template appeal off on day 26/26.

Anyway, received a 'Notice to Keeper' about 3 weeks ago, and a 'Notification' letter today in red. This mentions that myself the registered keeper is now liable.

Is it too late for me the send the blue template letter now, or send it but take out the bit about contacting DVLA or do I go straight to POPLA appeal?

    just use the blue text template "as is" , because its not a major slip up so doesnt matter as long as you are within the 28 days allowed from the NTK date

    you cannot go to POPLA without a popla code

    UK Parking Controls <<<<< note the "s"

    UK Parking Control are currently subject to a winding up order by HMRC

    The owner of UKPC is a Rupert Williams who also set up a similar name called
    UK Parking Controls Ltd which is a dormant company

  • I have successfully appealed to 'POPLA' against parking notice issued by 'UK Parking Control Ltd' (UKPC) and thought it worth letting people know why the appeal was successful. I was parked in a designated bay within a private housing complex monitored by this company but failed to show a valid permit. POPLA upheld my appeal on the grounds that UKPC did not offer evidence that the landlord had authorised them to act on their behalf. My guess is that the management company for the houses has engaged UKPC however because the land is owned by a third party, neither the management company or UKPC have sought authority from the landlord because this would incur a cost OR the landlord might even refuse. So what UKPC rely on is threatening letters. They offered me a 'deal' when I wrote a letter of complaint and argued that the permit I do have must have fallen off my dashboard - this appears to have been irrelevent to POPLA in determining the outcome, it was the fact that UKPC didn't have the landlord's permission to issue the PCN that was in my favour. My comment therefore is if anyone gets a PCN from these people for parking on private land, I would suggest finding out who is the landowner. This may be difficult but perhaps the forum can give advice on how to do this as my guess would be that UKPC often will NOT have the requisite authority.

    UKPC and housing estates do not mix, UKPC keep losing.

    Make certain you let all the residents know this about
    these parking cowboys/scammers
