PPI claim, I can't remember details of the loan purpose

Hello, I'm trying to claim the PPI back on an old Egg loan and they want to know details of the purpose of the loan. It was to consolidate my credit cards but I can't remember which ones I had back then, just that I don't have them anymore. Does anyone know if this will cause problems and why they want to know anyway? I was not working at the time and was living with my then boyfriend, they pursuaded me to take out PPI in case my boyfriend lost his job although the loan and PPI were only in my name so I could never have claimed. I'm not sure why the cards I paid off, or anything else I chose to spend the money on, are relevent except as a means of making a claim more difficult to make.

Just tell them it was to consolidate other credit.
They are not making it difficult, just tell the truth.
