Apologies if answered elsewhere.
Brief story:
Parked at a Britannia Car Park in Newcastle. Pay and display, Knew I would be more than 1 hour so put £3 in machine for 2 hours, ticket on display in window. Adjacent machine was out of action.
Received PCN several days ago which I thought was odd, checked ticket in the car - only showing £2.00 on ticket.
I can only assume the machine didn't register one of the £1 coins - possibly a new one as this was only 10 days after the release of the coins (and possibly why the adjacent machine was not working?)
Stupidly I have completed the online appeal before coming here! I explained the above in the appeal (with no admission that I was the driver - I had two passengers who can drive the vehicle) and ticked the "keeper" box rather than "driver" box.
Have I lessened my chances of avoiding payment of the excessive £100 charge due to the dubious legal nature of private PCNs?
Should I submit a new appeal online as per the template in thenewbies se ction but also adding a statement that any previous submission was submitted in error and is null and void?
Or just wait toseehow the appeal goes?
Thanks for any comments.

If above you are referring to an appeal direct to the PPC then as long as you haven't revealed who the driver was you are doing that to simply receive a POPLA code (I believe they are BPA) at which point you can put in a proper defence based on examples from this forum and help from the experts here.
If you then win at POPLA this is all done and dusted.
So if I understand your original post correctly it's as Redx says - "wait and see" and come back when you have a response to the above appeal and a POPLA code0 -
Another option open to you would be a landowner/car park owner complaint.
Was this a stand alone car park, or one that is part of a shopping centre/pub/retail/other?
As for messing up,k you may have made a few learner errors, but that £100 is staying in your pocket/bank account if you follow the advice/help on here. From the Plain Language Commission:
"The BPA has surely become one of the most socially dangerous organisations in the UK"0 -
Thanks for responses. The car park is a stand alone building in the centre of Newcastle, as far as I know, not part of any other retail outlet. If you're new. read The FAQ and Vauban's Guide

Good, you will win at POPLA then by citing no keeper liability. Britannia do not use POFA NTKs, so wait for the rejection letter and/or email them if it gets beyond 35 days since your appeal, press them for a POPLA code and turn the screw by reminding them about keeper liability.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Fortunately, Brittania have seen sense and cancelled the "PCN"
I know some of you were itching for a fight but obviously this is the preferred outcome
Thanks anyway. And now I know how to respond in the unlikely event of a re-occurance.If you're new. read The FAQ and Vauban's Guide

Not itching for a fight v Britannia.
They are easy to beat at appeal, and they know it. Thanks for conforming they cancelled at the first sight of a registered keeper appeal!PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
