Ok now I'm worried...my friend who also lives in Scotland has a ticket from the same car park as I've been sent one from England. She has ignored everything thus far but has today received a letter from Gladstone Brooks advising that if she doesn't contact to arrange to pay they'll lodge court proceedings without further notice. Am I better to Appeal but still not advise who driver was?

This is standard practice, they're just trying to scare you/your friend. The next letter will threaten to slice up your first-born child with a carving knife and sacrifice the blood to Thor.

As per all the previous posts, DO NOT contact them. They can try and issue court proceedings if they want to, but they'll not get very far seeing as how the law is different in Scotland. Who are they going to try and issue proceedings against, anyway ? The driver - who's that ? Ignore the letter, shred it, and use it for hamster bedding - that's all it's any good for.

<Edit> By the way, tell your friend to also expect another letter in about 3 years time, threatening all sorts of dire consequences. It's them just throwing their toys out of the pram because they know there's sod all they can do about chasing you. Again, it makes for useful hamster bedding. I think the usual pattern is that you'll get 5 - 6 letters in total before they finally give up and go and sulk in a corner.

No, keep ignoring - they are just fishing to try and get you to identify the driver.

Its no easy task to raise a cross border action and the chances of it happening for a parking ticket with no identified driver is vanishingly small.

DRP ... as they are noted as who to pay then this is just another debt collector letter. DRP cannot take you to court. Only the PPC (or their solicitor on their behalf) can do so ... they won't risk a cross-border claim as the costs are far higher than for a normal claim and the risk of failure is also higher. They'll have easier fish to catch.

No - they lie. It's a debt collector piece of drivel.

Did you try a complaint to the retailer (or is a multi-retail site, the Managing Agent of the place?). Complain. HARD.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

What part of the very simple DRP-specific advice in Post Four of the Newbies Sticky did you fail to understand?
