Costco : In-store purchase - What would you do.

  • OP probably wouldn't be covered even if his membership hadn't expired - its been 8 months since purchase and costco say their satisfaction guarantee on electricals is 90 days so OP is some 150+ days over the time limit.

Costco are generally very good with this though. Although their satisfaction guarantee wouldn't apply, their 2 years on electricals would. They usually just refund or replace - it depends on what the issue is, of course. For TV's, it's 5 years.

It's only extended to 2 years on certain electricals, which does not include printers or AIO's.
OP doesn't state the make and model, but there will be at least a one year manufacturer warranty.
However I'm not convinced it's faulty. Is it actually described as a photo printer? if not the quality may not be great. And paper jams are usually caused by using cheap paper and paper dust or debris in the paper feed channel.
Print density fading-have you cleaned the heads? If not used daily then the heads will clog on an inkjet. Are you using genuine ink carts or compatibles.
However, I'd start by asking Costco for a return and partial refund (you can't expect a full refund after 8 months use).
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

Outcome: Went in - explained it was defective from factory - full refund gained after extensive questioning and demonstration of fault.
