I can confirm that theonlywayisup's suggestion works. Just printed today's packages and none have updated or added the delivery confirmation number. Thank you theonlywayisup, that could well save me from a lot of grief especially on my under used private account.

This is daft though , a real retrograde step, and another way of inconveniencing the buyer by not supply details, just to protect a seller's account.

yep, looks like there are minor issue across Europe, not very many reports yet though so possibly localised.

Can I please urge people to check their seller dashboard if using online postage- this issue of late defects is more widespread than I realised. I was chatting on a small closed group last night and someone else mentioned that they are likely to lose their ebay account unless ebay somehow decide these defects are unfair.

Miss X runs a small business in a particular market, had a sudden health issue several months ago and got a small amount of orange blobs. Thank goodness she noticed them and to try and water down the percentage she extended her shipping time but still stuck to the next day she always had previously. Has online printing and thought that would be useful as it proves she sends on time or early, but like me didn't realise that RM update late on many occasions and ended up with a restriction as she has dropped below standard. Didn't really realise the blobs were automatic so continued using online and selling items at near cost to build up feedback- and that made it worse, no one is leaving feedback and the orange blobs come in batches and she's now facing a permanent ban in a week or so unless she can persuade ebay to remove the automatic blobs.

The issue with 2D is that for 'tracking' ebay take the acceptance scan, so as 2D has no acceptance scan ebay only use the delivery update when RM upload it- that is covered here:

Deliveries will be considered late only when either:
Tracking shows the item was delivered after the estimated delivery date and there's no acceptance scan within your handling time!

Lastly, having had a few of us read the T and cs carefully, it seems to suggest that you are not banned due to lates alone, but when you are so severely restricted it is a struggle to get back, and in Miss A's case she has a chat transcript suggesting that she will be banned and CS didn't agree that this was not possible just due to late defects.

So , apologies for the long post- but do check your seller dashboard if using a linked online postal service, and follow the links in theonlywayisup's post above to unlink them.

Going to disable the click and drop dispatched setting. It's only last week i have started using click and drop properly.. been finding my way around it.

I have looked through my dashboard. And nothing is highlighted/flagged. But as soon as I generate the postage labels. I sit down with a cuppa and manually click the dispatch button on my listings on eBay too.

I have a strange update to this - all of my recent lates caused by the 2D tracking have been removed- they all still show but instead of the orange blob now show as a greyed out blob and no longer figure in the numbers.

I hadn't even attempted to get ebay to remove them as frankly I'm fed up of whinging at them on the phone.

If this is a new rule then I might go back to letting the delivery reference get updated as it is useful to have them update automatically.
