Just wanted to offer a few friendly words of support too.

You were absolutely right to get the house rewired for safety sake. That's always gotta come first.

Sorry to hear that the bike got stolen - it's such a shame but this happens all over the country as if something is there in full view, even locked up, there are too many people who are either too lazy to work hard themselves and just help themselves or, they are desperate and will resort to theft.

If you were kind of taking that theft 'personally' - please don't. I only say that because we got burgled and had our car broken into last year and had an attempted burglary this year as well - and I took it immensely personally which got me down. But the thing is, it's not personal.....it's just unfortunately the way things are now. To some people, stealing is like a job to them - it's how they make their living. Bit like some credit agencies eh? :D

I hope you can chip away at the house - the tidying away etc. As someone else said - you are not superwoman so don't expect miracles but you can perhaps set yourself & your children some targets/challenges to get things under way.

The kitten that you are looking after - could you say to the owner that you either need some £ towards the food or you will contact the cinammon trust as Tustastic suggested? This would be one less thing on your plate.

Perhaps when you are feeling a bit better you could extend that "hello" & a wave to your neighbour into a bit more of a sentence/conversation as who knows, perhaps they would like to chat more to other people as well?

I do hope things start to turn a corner soon.....just take some small steps and keep posting and getting ideas.

  • I feel really sorry for you as you feel so low and life seems such a struggle for you, but as others have said, you are doing an amazing job!

To have paid off so much debt and to bring up your children all on you own, and hold down a job, all with no relatives to help you. You must be super woman!

You should be really proud of yourself! As Looking Ahead suggested maybe you could try and have more of a conversation with some of your neighbours? Maybe they feel isolated too but are too reserved to start a conversation? You have nothing to lose by trying. Can you get to know anyone where you work?

Be proud of yourself, because you sound like a really strong, resourceful person to me.
