FTB - Offer accepted, what next?

You need to decide which is more important to you - money or time.
If time is more important, then you need to get all your ducks in a row, ready to get everything moving in parallel as soon as the chain is complete. Survey, mortgage, legals.
If money is more important, then you need to prioritise the order in which you do things is important. What's your biggest risk? If you think that the mortgage is a bit borderline, then prioritise that. If you're comfortable with that, but want to be sure the house is not going to throw surprises, prioritise the survey.0 -

We are also trying to negotiate what they are leaving behind as we have given full asking price and they are over the moon so have agreed to leave stuff behind to help us out.
You have offered full price and now are hoping they leave stuff behind? But surely your offer was for the house alone?
If your offer price was including x, y, z then that should have been stated as part of your offer.
If they say they will leave the manky carpets only....... will you want to reduce your price?0 -
I would not have offered when the sellers have not even found a place this can take months on top of the purchase time. Most would agree to rent if they had not found anything around the same time of yours being accepted.0

I don't think this is good advice, the best way to sell/purchase at the same time is to have your house under offer first and then start looking for another house. Vendors and estate agents will want to make sure potential buyers are in proceedable positions i.e. their house is under offer.0 -

We are currently staying in a static caravan so we have been able to save up for the deposit so we literally have a sofa and a mattress to take away and the sellers were more than willing to help us out when we went to them with the offer, which was on the condition they left some stuff behind. I would never be so cheeky to expect them to leave stuff without it being agreed.
Had we not needed stuff left behind I would have went in with a lower offer. Like I said I am a FTB and this is all new to me.0 -

But what I mean is that you have offered full price on the condition they leave some stuff behind....what stuff? A chair? Did they agree verbally that they will leave eg table/chairs/washing machine...... Have you told them what you want included? You are buying 'some stuff' so you need to tell them what you want. Then they can decide if they want to give you it or not.0 -

But as a buyer who wants to move quick and is a FTB you have to factor in the time this takes, when I bought my place I was chain free and offer was on the condition of the vendor moving quick as I had problems last year as 4 months after acceptance we were still waiting for the seller to find somewhere.
From the sellers point of view your right,0 -

From the sellers point of view your right,
As a first time buyer did you have estate agents ask your position, ability to proceed? That doesn't change just because you own a property. Some estate agents won't even show potential buyers round houses if their houses are not under offer because they are not ready to proceed.
It's all very well for offers to be made on certain conditions but house sales take as long as they take. There has to be flexibility on both sides, it is a bit of a chicken and egg situation, the vendors should be actively looking for properties or be open to the idea of renting, but ultimately chain free buyers are only attractive because it is assumed that they can be flexible.0
