PPI Natwest Loan and Barclaycard

Hi All,

So after reading about everyones claims I thought I would try for my own!

I first rang Natwest who I took a loan out with in 1996 and they cant find me on their system :( Said they would send a form but 10 days later nothing received.

Next Barclay card - I have received a letter from them agreeing they miss sold PPI on my account but then go on to say no ppi premiums were received! so no refund due!

So my questions:

Natwest do I ring again or wait?

Barclaycard - I know I had the card for 4 years with a balance or around £750-£1000 a month paying only the minimum, so If I had PPi on the account how did they not take any premiums? I have rung their PPi line and the lady I spoke to said that the information they have doesn't go back as far at 1996 and that if I believe I didn't repay my total bill every month I should write in and contest the decision. So does that mean the letter I got was just fobbing me off and it isn't a case of I didn't pay anything its more of case that they dont know? Anyone else had a letter like this and got anything refunded?

No, it means they have no evidence you paid any premiums.

Sorry for sounding thick but do I have to prove I paid premiums or do they have to show I didnt? They have agreed I had PPI on the account and when I rang to disagree that I hadnt paid any premiums the lady could say if I did or didnt?

If they have no evidence, you need to prove that you paid premiums.

As the accuser, the burden of proof is upon you, not the Bank. If there are no records of payment, it is you who therefore has to prove otherwise with statements etc from your own archive.
