3m Scaffolding Board Shelf - How Many Brackets

I'm about to completely redo my bedroom in an industrial style and want to put up a 3m length of scaffolding board above the bed, which will hold my speakers and I'll also be clamping a couple of lamps to it. My wall are double skinned plasterboard (12mm and 9mm).
There are quite a few places selling brackets specifically for scaffolding boards. For a 3m length, would I need 3 or 4 (or more)? I'll be fixing them using spring toggles.

I can, but if I want a bracket dead centre, there isn't a stud that lines up with the middle of the room, which was the thinking behind using spring toggles.0 -
Why not screw/glue a length of plywood to the wall, decorate to match the wall then screw the brackets to that?0
