Inaccurate Local Search

Options
On the 10th of march we bought our 'forever home'
we used a very old reputable solicitors firm and they where very thorough.
A local search was carried out by Index.
This week a beautiful tree which sat out side our home was cut to the ground. When I enquired why after much protesting, they refused to tell me who the client was. I have now found out it is BOVIS homes.
I have now received plans which NO ONE IN THE ROAD HAS SEEN. It is a major change to the road junction.
I have reason to believe this SHOULD have been on the Local Searches carried out in Feb 17. The plans I see are May 16.
My house will NOW BE SLAP BANG in the middle of a major road junction. Road Widening and traffic lights etc.
We had such hopes when we bought this, our first home together.
Does any one have any advice how we should approach this?
INdex the search company have gone to the County Council Highways department to find out why this was not on the local search.
My solicitor has advised he believes we have a claim
Who do we claim against and for how much?
We have had quotes for Secondary glazing to help block out the noise and to install frosted glass as we can be seen in our bathroom by the people in their cars driving down the hill, the bedroom is in full view of the people idling at the traffic lights. the fumes and noise levels will rise and now ( I am disabled) will NEVER be able to park in front of my house. Right now it is on double yellow but I have a Disabled badge and can at least go shopping and park to unload. When the junction is changed I will NEVER be able to park.
I would NEVER have bought this house if I had known. I was not given the option.
ADVICE PLEASE has any one else had a similar issue and how was it dealt with.
Sorry for any spelling mistakes I am in a state!
Thanking you all in advance

    1. Who does your solicitor advise you to claim against?
    2) Have you got a copy of the Index search?
    3) When you visited the council before Exchanging, and looked at the Local Plan, and Planning Applications in the area, what did they show?
    4) Why not wait for the response via the Index search Company?

    1. Who does your solicitor advise you to claim against? He just said we had a claim, we are just guessing it is Northampton CC
    2) Have you got a copy of the Index search? Yes and it has nothing against any road changes by the house
    3) When you visited the council before Exchanging, and looked at the Local Plan, and Planning Applications in the area, what did they show? NO one ever suggested we do this as the Local search should show these things. Also the people we bought the house of have moved next door and they didn't even know and have lived here for over 20 years.
    4) Why not wait for the response via the Index search Company?
I hope to get the reply from Index tomorrow, I wanted to be armed and ready with anything I could get my hands on.
