Xbox live membership - more than one year

Options
If you didn't know, you can put up to three xbox live gold 12 months membership codes one after another. An alternative of renewing it yearly.

For example, if you started the membership in May 2017 and put the three codes in, it will expire in May 2020. If you put in the one 12 month code it will expire in May 2018.

Renewin ecery few years is better if you don't want to renew every year.

Yep book12 its common knowledge, its not much of a chore to do it every year.

How long have you been on Xbox Live ? A long time user or just started ?

Apologies OP I assumed you were a long time user and aware of it.

Its tied to your account, not the machine.
Break down I'll give you but stolen?
    What a strange thought process.
  • I didn't know that, I had always been nervous of renewing too early in case it caused me to lose any of what I had already paid for. You do get some good offers for the first month if you let it expire though. I've just paid £1 this month.

Where are people getting the best prices for 12 month prepaid cards these days? Amazon?

It's fairly unlikely but burglary does happen. As another poster said renewing every 12 months is no big deal. Another potential issue is what if you decide to sell the console.

There's very few deals around these days, the prices seem to be creeping up so if there are any bargains it's worth getting a few. I bought one for £35 and then Amazon had a lightning deal for £25 shortly after so I bought that and no problem adding it to give me nearly two years in total.

Nope you dont lose say 5 months of your current membership, it just gets added on.

I use cdkeys for decent prices, Christmas has been good in the past, I use hukd to keep on top of any offers.

If the console is stolen lets say on your first day of your holidays then the thief can spend on your console when the use it as your credentials are saved, when you do go away the account should be removed for safety and when you sell a console you should always format it via the dashboard so everything is wiped except for the Xbox's operating system.

If you buy another console you log back in with your credentials and re-download everything or re-install from disc, it really is quite simple :)

I was thinking more along the lines of realising PlayStation is better which would mean the money spent on 3 years worth would have been wasted.
