Travel Insurance with Private hospital Cover?

With the state of Greek hospitals and other countries with money problems, I would be very afraid to go in their public hospitals, most Travel insurance will not cover private hospitals, I have read bupa will cover them. Can anyone recommend other travel insurances who cover private hospitals, or one which you have had a good experience with?

    Do you have private healthcare?

Where exactly are you going in Greece?

    Any pre-existing?

    These may affect the answer.
I am just thinking out loud - nothing I say should be relied upon!

With the state of the UK NHS, I don't think you would notice any difference.

What a stupid comment! if you don't have anything sensible to add, don't bother.

Greek healthcare is one of the worst in Europe (its one of the worst I've ever experienced!) There is an expectation for family to look after the ill, bring food etc. The standards can be very low. I've experienced wards that are boarded up because they are condemned, patients being treated in (dirty) corridors. Surgeons smoking while gowned up.

I found this post while researching the same topic. I have just returned from India, it had never occurred to me I would be stuck in the nearest public hospital.

I have emailed a couple of the insurance bodies to see if they will direct me to a suitable provider. If they do i'll post it here.
