Which Compact Digital Camera?

Hi Folks,

Am looking to replace my old Sony cybershot as it got dropped and broke recently

Am looking to spend no more than £200 - £225 on a camera but obviously want the best for the money

Am edging again towards sony as I dont know anything else unless you people can educate me in a different direction

Am stuck on 2 cameras at the minute and dont know which way to go

Sony DSC W200

Appreciate any feedback on either of these or as already said another model?

Hi Pete,
I have a Canon Digital IXUS and I can thoroughly recommend the IXUS range.
Mine is a bit dated now (IXUS 40), but I have no complaints about it....

I'm also trying to decide on an upgrade for my old fuji. I found the reviews and forum on http://www.dpreview.com/ were a great help in selecting my short list.

Picking the overall winner is proving more difficult

If I stay with fuji the finepix s5700 could be the one.

Depends on what you want out of your camera. Which are the mos important features to you?

Size
Zoom
Manual Controls
Optical Viewfinder

etc.

I'm getting a new camera for Christmas and I'm currently planning on getting the Panasonic TZ3. It's nice and small with a big LcD screen, but manly becaise it has a 10x optical zoom and a wide angle lens.

We have a 2 yr old girl who I keep missing shots with my old sony, have gone back to my v v old olympus mij wet camera for the time being

Size is obviously an issue so it can be slipped in out of pocket easily
The most important thing though is speed of processing so that shots do not get missed

It's a good site for camera reviews and price comparison.

I like the way you can see the same views taken with each camera reviewed - it allows you to compare actual performance rather than trust the specs.
