Don't you apply through your council rather than gov?0

I have just done the application online through the site mentioned above but half way through it said if successful for the 30 hour free childcare then we will automatically end your child tax credits and working tax claim and we will not be able to reapply again.
What has child tax credits got to do with the 30 hours of nursery?
I'm really worried now I think I have made a massive mistake applying for this as we definitely cant afford to lose the child tax credits we get, is there anyway of withdrawing this application does anyone have a telephone no. to contact them on?0 -
Well it can affect your tax credits if claiming childcare help from them as your childcare costs will decrease. What is the exact wording?0

I can't remember exact word for word but it said something like 'we will stop your child tax credits and working tax credits claim and you will not be able to restart your claim if you wish to proceed with this application'.
Does anyone have a telephone number for them for me to contact as this has got me extremely worried now.0 -
Hi.... there's guidance on their website which says:
Parents can't use Tax-Free Childcare at the same time as they receive childcare vouchers, Universal Credit or tax credits. However, 30 hours free childcare can be received alongside these schemes.

Have to apply through the HMRC Childcare Choices website. The 2 year old nursery funding scheme applications can be made through your local council and childcare providers must verify the 30 hours eligibility code with the local authority.0 -

Thanks. Couple of years before I need to worry about it anyway. That if Scotland even bother doing it.0 -
Just tried signing up for this with my LO, but for some reason my wife and I don't qualify (I'm working full time, my wife is receiving carer's allowance). Hopefully it's a problem with the website and not that they've decided to screw over carers.0

I still do not fully understand how the 30 hours funding works for carers?
If the individual cared for has a severe medical condition which requires 24/7 supervision/care, what allocation would a toddler in the family recieve?0
