I don't understand it is a free site. I just type in a name and area, and up they come.
    What exactly is the problem?

It's not free for me. I get this (no I'm not searching for John smith just showing its not free)

Sorry I nearly forgot to return.
44 free results on your example.
    Are you a member?
I am, but I have never paid.
To obtain a full Postcode, if you think it is the correct person. I just paste the address in google.
    Sorry just read the rest.

Thanks. Yes I'm a member but the results I want aren't free so it's asking me to pay. Poeple tracer wont even let me view results without paying. It's cheaper than 192 but since I can't see results until I pay I wont use it because I have no idea if I'm just wasting money.

And I have tried the second link before but it's more expensive than 192.

I don't have an address, I have an area and a partial postcode, so I can't google because the area has over 1000 streets matching that partial postcode.

Looks like I'll just have to bite the bullet and pay 192 the £15, seems a shame to pay for 6 searches when I only want one.

    Thanks.

    Hi,
I'm a member of findmypast which has some electoral registers but don't think they're as up to date as 2017.
If you want to PM me the details you have I can see if there is anything on there for you.
    HTH.

    What a shame!
I know the post Office will give you a full postcode for free, but you will need an address.
I suppose I must have always been lucky, as the names I was tracing were unusual, and not locked up.
    Good Luck:)

Had a look and the site has electoral rolls up to 2014 if that's any good?
    Let me know.

  • Hello, I know this is an old post - but I wondered if your membership was still active? I have a random card posted to my address and have found the person via 192 but need their address. They are on my road in theory but elderly

    Hello,

as I met a friend on my trip to Sri Lanka I'd like to send her a postcard.

Now...I can look the address up at 192.com (I see it's available) but that's very expensive for 1 look up.

Anybody who is willing to share a credit I can buy from (or if you look up the address I can pay you for the look up),

    thanks in advance!
