Problems with ipod. Can you help!

I have had my ipod for 15months.

The problem is music only comes out of one headphone.

It is not the headphones as i have tried different headphones and i get them same result.

When the headphones are plugged in and i wiggle the part that goes in the ipod i sometimes get sound.

Has anyone had the same problem?

Is there anything i can do?

I'm quite peeved off over this so some positive feedback and answers would be a huge relief.

sounds like a faulty headphone socket im afraid.
i have the same on my ipod remote(must remember to return it!)
there are tutorials on the net for opening ipods.
if its out of warrenty (and you dont think you can wangle an out of warrenty repair/replacement) you could open it up for a look.
maybe just bending the contacts in the socket may help enough
