London Theatre tickets

My daughter is in London next weekend and would like to go to a show. Obviously cost is a factor - cheaper the better!. I seem to remember that you could go somewhere central on the day to get cheap tickets for that day, so can anyone confirm that? They are in London Friday, Saturday and Sunday, although I know that Sunday is usually a rest day.

There are several "half price ticket" booths in Leicester Square, most of them being nothing of the sort.
The only "official" one is https://www.officiallondontheatre.co.uk/tkts/leicestersquare which isn't obvious to the casual tourist0
